Our Values

Faith

At Made2Homeschool, our faith in God is the foundation of everything we do. While we welcome people from all backgrounds in the Made2Homeschool community, and no one should ever be made to feel like they don’t belong, we want to be up front about our Christian values.

We believe that integrating these beliefs into the homeschooling journey is essential for nurturing our children's spiritual growth. Our contributors strive to provide resources and guidance that reflect our shared values, helping you create an educational experience that weaves faith into every aspect of your children's lives.

Our hope is that, together, we'll support each other in raising godly leaders who will impact the world for Christ.

Family

Family is the beating heart of Made2Homeschool, and we cherish the traditional values that bring us closer together. We understand that homeschooling is a deeply personal and family-focused adventure. Our community emphasizes nurturing strong relationships among family members and offering resources tailored to each family's unique needs.

We believe that by prioritizing family and upholding our shared values, we can leave a lasting impact on our children and the world, all while experiencing the joy and warmth of learning together.

Freedom

At Made2Homeschool, we celebrate the freedom that homeschooling brings – the liberty to craft a one-of-a-kind educational experience tailored to your children's needs, interests, and abilities. We embrace the diverse backgrounds, teaching styles, and learning preferences of our community members by providing a rich variety of resources and support. We do this because we believe the uniqueness with which God created each of our children can reach its fullest potential when we have the freedom to educate with equally unique approaches.

We believe that everyone should have that freedom. As such, we support families everywhere in their advocacy of policies that remove administrative and bureaucratic hurdles from homeschooling families.

ROLE: FOUNDERS

CHILDREN: THREE

Brandon & Brigitte are a Christ-centered couple who live in North Florida with their 3 children (9, 6 & 1). Brigitte has been in ultrasound for 17+ years, with a long-time desire to become a homeschooler & homemaker. When Brandon stepped away from full-time ministry in 2021 due to health challenges, God opened a new door through his YouTube consulting business.

Brandon asked God for Christian clients and He provided Christian... homeschool moms. This led Brandon and Brigitte, along with the M2H team, to create a new type of online community in 2023. Led by Christian values but open to all, this idea became Made2Homeschool. Now they're on a mission to equip, encourage and empower homeschool families worldwide!

STYLE: ECLECTIC

CHILDREN: SIX

Katie is a second generation homeschooler married to her high school sweetheart for almost 15 years. Together they have 6 kids ages 13,12,11,10,5, & 4. She has been homeschooling for 9 years and has experience in homeschooling children who are neurotypical as well as kids with Autism, ADHD, Auditory Processing Disorder, Dyslexia, Hearing Impairments, & Other Medical Needs. Her own ADHD diagnosis has helped her understand her kids better & allows her to adapt and pivot as needed for her chaotic life.

Her passion is helping other homeschool families who don't fit in the box realize that God did not make a mistake when He put them in the families they are in. She loves to share about the flexibility and the individualized education that homeschooling provides and how you can live in that freedom instead of being burdened by the expectations of others. One of the family's mottos is "We strive for progress, not perfection" running the race that God marked out for us by being faithful in what He has called us to do and leaving the results to Him.

CHILDREN: FIVE

Wendy Alcime is a working mother of five children, passionate about homeschooling with an unassailable faith in God and His direction for her and her family. From the moment her oldest child was born, she knew that she wanted to be the one to guide his education. She spent countless hours researching curricula, attending homeschooling conferences, and connecting with other homeschooling families in her community.

Over the past 11 years, Wendy's passion only grew stronger. She delighted in watching them learn and grow while tailoring their education to each child's needs, interests, and family beliefs. Wendy is not some flashy on-camera personality with abundant grace and a specific pedagogy to answer all your homeschooling woos! What you will find with Wendy is a refreshing authenticity, a logical approach to homeschooling, and a big smile that spans the globe. Her no-nonsense approach is one gained through the practical experience of trying and failing.

Having tried everything from complicated cutouts to minimalistic manipulatives, Wendy focuses on practical solutions that work and fit within the framework of a busy family. As a part-time nurse, wife, and mother of five, including a newborn and a daughter with a rare autoimmune disease, there is no time to waste on false pretenses for social media or buzzwords that cosign the latest educational fad. Wendy is about finding homeschooling solutions and routines that work as hard as you do.

STYLE: Unit Study, Eclectic

CHILDREN: ONE

Kristen is a first generation homeschooler to one 7 year old daughter. Kristen, her husband, and daughter love doing life together as "The Three Amigos". She has been educating her child since birth, but took on the role of a homeschool mom 3 years ago.

Kristen is passionate about allowing her daughter's natural curiosity lead the selection of their unit study topics. She started using unit studies fairly quickly and hasn't turned back since. Homeschooling has allowed Kristen's family to follow an unusual school schedule, due to their love for being outdoors in the Fall. Being a first generation stay-at-home mom, homeschooling mom, and mom to one has presented its own challenges. However, Kristen has enjoyed learning to love where God has placed her and how He is using her in this season.

STYLE: RESTFULLY CLASSICAL

CHILDREN: FIVE

Amy and her husband John are 2nd-generation homeschoolers to five children from 8 to 18 years old, including a new homeschool graduate! The Sloan family adventures together in NC where they pursue a restfully-classical education filled with books, conversation, and not-so-occasional nerdiness. If you hang out with her for any length of time you’ll quickly learn that she loves overflowing book stacks, giant mugs of coffee, beautiful memory work, and silly memes. At any moment she could break into song and dance from 90s country music or Shakespeare. Amy encourages homeschoolers through her “Homeschool Conversations with Humility and Doxology” podcast.

Amy says that the best education is the one that leads to a humble view of one’s self and a glorified view of the beauty of God. She encourages homeschooling mamas that faithful consistency and wonder-filled exploration are not mutually exclusive. Her family’s homeschool prioritizes relationships over checklists, and she believes that beautiful words are more valuable to memorize than inventories of facts. Ultimately, Amy is convinced that Gospel truth alone saves us from endlessly striving and the fear, worry, and anxiety of wondering if we (and our homeschools) are enough.

Megan Robinson

6 Children

Megan is a homeschool mom of 6, wife to Jon, former public school teacher, and follower of Christ. Homeschooling and homemaking are areas that the Lord has drawn her to be passionate about and it is her desire to be as intentional as she can in both. She entered the world of "homeschool mom" after the birth of their fourth child in 2014. Through the years her desire has gown to homeschool and mentor others. She and her family have been members of a local homeschool co-op, where Megan also teaches, for 8 years. As part of her desire to encourage and help others in their homeschool journey, Megan has mentored and been a consultant for others.

Megan first began homeschooling when she had 4 children under the age of 5. "It just didn't make sense to pay for all that childcare." As soon as the decision was made, it became obvious that her and her husband were fulfilling exactly what the Lord was calling them to do. She began as a Charlotte Mason homeschooler that evolved into a more eclectic style when one of her son's began exhibiting signs of a learning disability.

Over the years there have been many changes and dynamics to Megan's homeschool, between a child with severe dyslexia, homeschooling with babies and toddlers, and varying ages and learning styles. She is dedicated to finding what fits to educate each of her children. And while academics are important, Megan's main focus is to ensure her children are educated with a Christian Worldview.

5 Children

Julie is a second generation homeschooling mom of five, living in Canada. Her and her husband decided very early on in parenthood that homeschooling was the route they would take for their family's education. Julie's children now range from middle school down to kindergarten. She's grateful for God's leading years ago to teach her children at home, and the close-knit family life that has been the result.

Learning together as a family is a passion of hers, and that has resulted in using unit studies as their primary homeschool curriculum. The whole family sitting around the table (or the living room floor) together, using different levelled workbooks, but all learning the same lesson. She understands that education is more than academics, and implements plenty of nature walks, music, baking, and real life life learning opportunities into their school day. Raising children is the most important ministry, she believes, that God has given to mothers, and she prioritizes teaching a Biblical worldview, memorizing scripture, and having a personal relationship with Him. Julie desires to encourage other homeschool mamas to feel confident in their journey.

1 Child

After 13 years in public education, Ashlea felt led to homeschool her only child, Daniel. With the support of her husband of 17 years, Dan, Ashlea made the choice to leave her job 5 years ago to focus on homeschooling full time. Daniel is now 14 and is in the 8th grade.

Ashlea loves sharing on her YouTube channel how to use unit studies in your home as well as many other topics. Based on her personal experiences, Ashlea didn’t feel that public education nor private education would provide the best learning experience for her child. After trying both, she made the choice to homeschool Daniel. After experimenting with various curricula, Ashlea determined that unit studies are what works best for Daniel’s style of learning.
